SECIL Agregados S.A Strengthens Environmental Commitment with the Registration of New EPDs

SECIL Agregados has just reinforced its commitment to sustainability with the registration of two new Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) in the DAPHabitat system. The EPDs for SECIL aggregates from the Atouguia Quarry demonstrate the company’s ongoing dedication to offering construction solutions with clearly declared technical and environmental performance.

These industrial aggregates are granular materials of mineral origin, generally inert. They are used in a variety of construction products, and their selection has a significant impact on the quality and behavior of the final applications.

Two EPDs have been registered for these aggregates:

  • EPD 019:2024 – WASHED AGGREGATES – ATOUGUIA QUARRY
    The product class “Washed Aggregates – Atouguia Quarry” includes a set of four products manufactured by Secil Agregados, S.A. at the Atouguia Quarry. These aggregates possess specific properties suitable for civil engineering works and can be used in the production of concrete, mortars, and asphalt mixtures, as well as unbound applications or in hydraulic engineering works for protection or regulation.

  • EPD 020:2024 – UNWASHED AGGREGATES – ATOUGUIA QUARRY
    The product class “Unwashed Aggregates – Atouguia Quarry” also includes a set of four products manufactured by Secil Agregados, S.A. at the Atouguia Quarry. These products similarly possess specific properties suited for civil engineering works and can be used in the production of concrete, mortars, and asphalt mixtures, or unbound and in hydraulic engineering works for protection or regulation.

Both EPDs were developed in accordance with the EN 15804+A2 standard, ensuring technical rigor and data comparability. Independent verification guarantees the reliability of the information presented.

With these new EPDs, SECIL Agregados reaffirms its role as an active contributor to more sustainable and environmentally conscious construction.
