Harmonization

A major goal of the EPDs is to serve the market in a global way, communicating the environmental performance of the products in a harmonized and satisfactory way.

In countries where EPD registration programs are more mature and where the manufacturers themselves are engaged in the development of EPDs, development of Product Category Rules (PCR) was boosted. A major concern of these programs in partnership with business is the development of harmonized documentation and compatible international, thus avoiding unnecessary commercial complications.

Registration programs should facilitate harmonization considering the adoption of PCR documents already available in the same product category, according to the ISO 14025: 2006. And against this premise the DAPHabitat System developed a procedure for recognition and adoption of a PCR of other registration programs.
